Music Video of the Day: For their latest music video-slash-Chevy Super Bowl ad, OK Go drove down a two-mile stretch of desert lined with 1,000 instruments in a Chevy Sonic fitted with retractable pneumatic arms to perform a very complicated version of “Needing/Getting” that took four months to prep and four days to shoot.

absolutly love this song, and this video is incredible. amazing history about the place that it is filmed in. 

its based in abandoned towns and holidays resorts around a manmade lake. following the redirecting of a river for agricultural purposes, a huge lake appeared in the middle of the desert in california. loads of towns and holiday resorts built up rapidly around the lake, but due to over use, a lack of freshwater and pollution the lake quickly became stagnant, leaving the area uninhabitable.

as quickly as it appeared, the area collapsed, leaving it abandoned, apart from a few hardy residents who still manage to struggle buy

Very nice new advert - starts off a little bit europop, but turns dark mid way through and gets really good. love the filming of it.

absolutely great video, totally addictive watching. very impressed with the timing and tone matching of the switches between vignettes - the colour/tone of each bit fits so nicely with the changes to the song.
